More than 50 gala committee members gathered on September 30 for an elegant white party generously hosted by Palm Beach Yacht Club to launch Newman Night 2027. Cardinal Newman extends its heartfelt thanks to the Club for its warm hospitality and generous support in making the kickoff celebration a memorable evening. The school’s signature fundraiser will take place on March 13, 2027, at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts’ Cohen Pavilion in West Palm Beach.
With the theme “The American Dream Guided by God’s Grace,” Newman Night 2027 will celebrate faith, family, community, and the promise of opportunity. Dennis and Erin Shea will be recognized as Honorary Chairs of Newman Night 2027 in appreciation of their long standing generosity and unwavering support of the Cardinal Newman community.
Overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway, with picturesque views of yachts, Palm Beach, and the downtown West Palm Beach skyline, Palm Beach Yacht Club provided a fitting backdrop for the Hamptons-inspired kickoff. Guests dressed in white enjoyed elegant American-inspired appetizers, cocktails, a buffet dinner, and a raw bar accented by a custom ice sculpture featuring the Cardinal Newman logo. A wine pull added to the evening’s festivities.
Gala Co-Chairs Kelly Algonas, Hope D’Alessandro-Forte, and Jackie Marvin welcomed guests and thanked committee members for lending their time, talents, and enthusiasm to the months of planning ahead.
“Our kickoff captured the spirit we hope to carry throughout the gala season: a beautiful celebration with a meaningful purpose,” said D’Alessandro-Forte. “We are grateful to the committee members whose creativity and generosity bring Newman Night to life. Together, we look forward to celebrating the American dream and the faith that guides our Cardinal Newman community.”
Cardinal Newman President Charles Stembler emphasized the connection between the celebration and the school’s mission.
“At Cardinal Newman, we help students discover their God-given gifts and develop the knowledge, character, and confidence to pursue their dreams,” said Stembler. “Newman Night brings our community together in support of that mission. We are grateful to our co-chairs, committee members, and our community for investing in our students and the future of our school.”
The kickoff was the first in a series of gatherings designed to build excitement and support for Newman Night 2027. In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the gala season will take guests on a journey through the eras that have shaped our nation, from the glamour of the Gatsby years and the timeless grace of the Jacqueline Kennedy era to the traditions, dreams, and milestones that define the American experience. The March celebration will blend iconic American style and entertainment with the enduring values of faith, family, and community while raising funds to support Cardinal Newman High School.
