Cardinal Newman High School students and faculty gathered on October 9, 2026, for a special Mass celebrating the feast day of the school’s patron, St. John Henry Newman. Father Marc Gustinelli celebrated the Mass, bringing the Newman community together in faith and gratitude.

Principal Ed Curtin welcomed the school community and opened the celebration by sharing background on St. John Henry Newman and his significance to the school. He highlighted Newman’s commitment to learning and his encouragement of others to deepen their understanding of their faith and the world around them.

Born in London in 1801, Newman showed an early love of learning and a deep religious devotion. His years at Oxford helped shape a lifelong commitment to scholarship and faith, qualities that continue to inspire Cardinal Newman’s mission of educating the whole person in spirit, mind, and body.

Students Jaylyn Kobosko and Abigail Partridge became extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. In a special moment, their families were the first to receive Communion from them.

The celebration continued with ice cream for all students and faculty in honor of the school’s patron saint. Through prayer, service, and a sweet treat shared together, the day offered the Newman family an opportunity to celebrate the faith and fellowship at the heart of its community.

St. John Henry Newman, pray for us.
