Assistant High School Olympic Weightlifting Coach 

Part-Time / Stipend Position 

Position Overview 

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Assistant High School Olympic Weightlifting Coach to support the development of student-athletes in a competitive and educational environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in Olympic weightlifting, strength and conditioning, and athlete development while helping foster a positive and disciplined team culture. This role includes assisting with programming, supervising training sessions, maintaining the weight room, and supporting athletes during practices and competitions. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of Olympic weightlifting and strength training programs for high school student-athletes 
  • Support athlete development in areas including technique, mobility, power production, injury prevention, and recovery 
  • Supervise and coach athletes during practices, training sessions, competitions, and team events
  • Assist with daily weight room setup, organization, maintenance, and breakdown before and after workouts
  • Ensure proper and safe use of all equipment and maintain a clean training environment
  • Help monitor athlete attendance, progress, and performance metrics 
  • Promote sportsmanship, discipline, accountability, and a positive team culture 
  • Collaborate with head coaches, athletic staff, and administration regarding athlete development and program needs 
  • Assist with meet preparation, travel logistics, and competition-day responsibilities as needed
  • Drive the team mini bus to local and short-distance competitions and events as assigned (no CDL required) while maintaining safe transportation practices 
  • Maintain compliance with all school, district, and athletic association policies and procedures 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience competing in and/or coaching Olympic Weightlifting 
  • Working toward or currently holding a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association or a comparable strength and conditioning certification 
  • Knowledge of Olympic lifting progressions, movement mechanics, and athlete safety standards
  • Experience working with high school-aged athletes preferred 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record prefered 
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes in a positive educational environment
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hir

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to demonstrate lifting movements and training techniques 
  • Ability to stand, move equipment, and supervise practices for extended periods
  • Ability to safely assist with loading, unloading, and organizing weight room equipment 

Additional Information 

  • Position may include early morning, afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend responsibilities

  • Salary/Stipend: To Be Determined based on experience and qualifications 
  • Driving license and clear driving license is required as assistant will drive the minibus.
