Cardinal Newman High School is seeking a dynamic, committed, and student-centered leader to serve as our Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach.

The Head Coach will be responsible for leading all aspects of the boys lacrosse program while building a culture centered on character, accountability, competitiveness, academic success, and the mission and values of Cardinal Newman High School.

Position Responsibilities

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach will:

  • Provide leadership and direction for the entire boys lacrosse program.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices, workouts, and competitions.
  • Develop student-athletes fundamentally, physically, mentally, and personally.
  • Establish a positive team culture built on discipline, accountability, sportsmanship, and respect.
  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor for Cardinal Newman student-athletes.
  • Recruit, organize, and supervise qualified assistant coaches.
  • Work closely with the Athletic Director and Athletic Department regarding scheduling, transportation, facilities, equipment, budgeting, and program operations.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with student-athletes, families, school administration, and the Athletic Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all Cardinal Newman High School, Diocese, and FHSAA policies and procedures.
  • Promote academic achievement and appropriate behavior among all student-athletes.
  • Help develop and grow participation throughout the lacrosse program.
  • Represent Cardinal Newman High School with professionalism at all times.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Previous lacrosse coaching experience, preferably at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
  • Strong knowledge of the game of lacrosse, including player development, practice organization, game strategy, and program management.
  • Proven ability to develop positive relationships with high school student-athletes.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A commitment to building a program that prioritizes the overall development of student-athletes.
  • A willingness to collaborate with school administration, faculty, staff, families, and other Cardinal Newman athletic programs.
  • A strong understanding of the importance of academics, character development, sportsmanship, and service.
  • Ability to uphold and support the mission and values of Cardinal Newman High School.
