The Practical Arts Department at Cardinal Newman High School offers an innovative and dynamic blend of courses, embracing the realms of computer science and robotics to prepare students for the digital age. Within this department, students have the opportunity to delve into cutting-edge computer science courses including AP offerings, where they acquire essential coding skills, explore software development, and engage with emerging technologies. Additionally, our robotics courses provide hands-on experiences in designing, building, and programming robots, coding languages, as well as 3D design and printing.  This curriculum challenges students to explore the foundational concepts of computational thinking and problem solving, as well as the impact of technology in our society. Through these diverse offerings our students gain critical life skills that translate into many other areas in a world that is increasingly driven by technology.
